Printing 4.0 is not just a production concept for the printing industry

The printing industry likes to give the industry its own name to new cross-industry production concepts - so instead of taking advantage of global technology trends, it is developing its own niche (niche) market. To give two examples: We have adopted the JDF concept to replace the popular XML concepts in all other industries. In the end, it is difficult for us to find JDF professionals. There is also the popular word "Web-to-Print". Now I have to explain to several generations of college students that the e-commerce configuration program for printed products is different from the web-based-based application (Web-to-Print).

We will feel that the printing industry lacks innovation than Germany's leading automotive and machine manufacturing industries. If you have the opportunity to visit a medium-sized machine factory. There, the international market leader, you can see that there are more people dressed than we imagined. When you visit the Mercedes-Benz E-Class workshop, you will see that each car is different from the configuration of the previous car. This is not new to us as a single producer.

Perhaps this is related to different industries. There may be some innovations that we do earlier than others, and thus form our own concept.

My opinion on buzzword industry 4.0 is that many people in our industry go further than we think. Because for us, "network printing factory" is not new. But now the main problem in the machine and automotive industry is that there is no longer a batch or special production that uses partially underutilized workstations, but rather a software-based network that allows special production to be run through the production floor with high utilization.

Some people say that we have been able to do this already! And can also be networked with our suppliers and production partners!

So can we cross the Industry 4.0 concept? I can't say it, because Industry 4.0 has more connotation and depth for the printing industry, so I made an exception and re-presented my own concept: "Print 4.0" (Print 4.0), which means for the printing industry There are more production concepts than just networking.

  ■ Printing 4.0 itself is a networked printing product. When a printed tag is printed on the door of a hotel containing printed electronic content, if the guest does not want to be disturbed, the number is communicated to the waiter, and an efficient service process is generated therefrom.

  ■ Printing 4.0 is the printing and online communication of the network. If all media reach their potential and each media can measure the contribution of its advertising effectiveness through a good reporting system, then cross-media marketing is a greater contribution to the online environment of our industry.

Printing 4.0 is not just a production concept for the printing industry. It also covers our products and services. Printing 4.0 is a concept with real added value.
